Summary:  Here we designed a microfluidic chip to grow bacteria in a gradient of metabolite concentrations. The microscopic structures of the chip are entirely fabricated by simple tools and adhesive tape. Bacteria is grown for over 10 hours, exposed to defined concentrations of antibiotics, and regulated in their gene expression utilizing CRISPR interference (CRISPRi).
